We are back for year 2 of the Battle for Mythic - this time with more titles, more representatives and more guaranteed cash! 💰

This year, we have 6 different PCBuilder communities fighting for the all-important #Mythic25 Tournament. Each game will have a Community Leader, leading the charge for their title! 

With Season 01, Season 02 and #AGC25 coming to a close for the year, here is a quick recap of what happened, and a rundown on what to expect from here on out!

Seasons were a brand-new addition to the ACGL Calendar this year, introduced to bring more structure and consistency to our events. We were really happy with the positive impact this has had on the community - allowing MGO’s more confidence in picking up teams in various titles across the board, while providing players the assurance of regular events and prize pools in their favourite games. Structure and consistency are two of the goals we have been striving towards here at ACGL. We feel these ideals are key to unlocking even more growth for Sub-Saharan African Esports, and are the best way to continue to support our community! It was from this, that the idea of Seasons was born.

We believe Seasons have laid a strong foundation from which we can keep expanding Sub-Saharan African esports, and are excited to build on this momentum. That said, we would love to hear your feedback - if there is anything you think we can improve, please let us know!

The African Gaming Championship (AGC) is back and bigger than ever! Hosted at the GrandWest Sun Exhibits, this year’s edition brings together South Africa’s top gaming talent, a stacked prize pool of R150,000, international pathways, and a main stage built for legends.

South Africa’s biggest gaming tournament is back. The 2025 MTN SHIFT Gaming Experience kicks off on 18 May, bringing months of competitive energy, in-centre activations, and serious prize money to malls across the country. This year’s edition raises the stakes with the return of the EAFC 25™ National Football Tournament and the debut of the MTN Beat Saber Challenge - two national titles, one massive celebration of gaming culture.

Over five months, eight Hyprop shopping centres will play host to a mix of online qualifiers and live in-mall events, creating a national stage where gamers of all levels can test their skills, win prizes and join a fast-growing community of South African players. The top contenders will face off in the National Finals at Canal Walk from 17 to 21 September, with R50 000 on the line in the EAFC 25™ Football Final and more prizes up for grabs in the Beat Saber showdown.

ACGL (African Cyber Gaming League) is excited to announce the renewal of its partnership with Clear Access, a leading internet service provider that has recently been ranked among the best ISPs for online gaming in South Africa by MyBroadband.

The Mythic Royale is back, and it's bigger than ever! Powered by PCBuilder and backed by MSI, AMD, Patriot, Crucial, FSP, Game Pass, and Microsoft, this Fortnite competition will take over the ACGL Seasons calendar from 11 May to 22 June with weekly action and epic prizes.

With a total prize pool of R30,000, the Mythic Royale offers R15,000 in guaranteed cash and a further R15,000 in player-driven incentives. This means the more you engage, the more you can win — both on the battlefield and online!

Pietermaritzburg, 10 March 2025: Following last year’s showdown that drew gaming enthusiasts from far and wide, the highly anticipated Gaming Festival, powered by Game4U in collaboration with African Cyber Gaming League, returns to Liberty Midlands Mall this year. Taking place from Friday 28 March to Sunday 30 March 2025, the fourth edition of this exciting festival promises an expansive gaming experience packed with virtual reality, esports tournaments, mobile gaming, racing and hands-free Kinect and rhythm games.

Gamers and spectators alike can experience interactive installations and high-energy competitions across two key zones: the centre court and the Wimpy court.
