๐AGC 2026 is here
๐The African Gaming Championship returns to GrandWest
The African Gaming Championship is back for 2026. From 16 to 19 July, GrandWest in Cape Town becomes the home of South African competitive gaming for four days, with more than eight titles on the line and a prize pool starting at R150,000.
Registrations are open now and close on 10 July at 23:55 SAST. Sign up at acgl.gg/AGC26.
This year's edition is the biggest lineup we have ever run. Free Fire and Tekken 8 join the roster for the first time, and Free Fire marks a milestone for us: it is the first mobile title we have ever brought to the AGC LAN. Mobile gaming has been one of the fastest-growing scenes on the continent, and putting it on the floor at AGC is a move we have wanted to make for a while.
The AGC Open titles
Seven titles, each with its own bracket and prize money:
- Brawlhalla - R10,000 (1v1)
- EA FC 26 - R30,000 (1v1)
- Fortnite - R40,000 total (Trios R30,000, Solos R10,000)
- Free Fire - R30,000 total (Squad R20,000, Solos R10,000)
- Rocket League - Nitro ASL only this year (3v3)
- Tekken 8 - R10,000 (1v1)

Nitro ASL: school esports at its peak
All paths converge at the African Gaming Championship, an event designed to nurture and promote the growth of African esports.
At the foundation are our school leagues, boasting over 300 registered schools-the largest in Africa-on our school platform. The AGC event serves as the grand finale for these schools, bringing together players from across the nation.
Moreover, AGC is dedicated to creating opportunities and paving the way for the future of esports in Africa. We are actively linking our competitions to the international circuit and enabling our champions to showcase their talents on a global stage.
We envision AGC as the cornerstone of African esports, essential for having our players represent not just their countries, but the entire continent. This initiative also aligns with educational and job creation prospects within the gaming industry.
We believe that AGC is the launching pad that connects African esports to the global arena.
