The time has come to lift the lid on the Absa Gaming Festival Streamer Event.

This Apex Legends series will celebrate local streamers and Apex Legends players over two qualifiers and one grand final. On the line is R20,000 in cash for the top six trios.

However, this series comes with a little twist. Traditional teams will not be competing for the glory. For this series, 30 invited streamers will be team captains who will randomly be allocated two teammates to compete for the glory of Apex Predator. And that teammate could be you.

APPLY TO COMPETE TODAY

You can now apply to be one of 60 players who will secure a berth in the Apex Legends series. You do not have to be a streamer, but you should at least play Apex Legends. Applications close Tuesday 3 May at 11h00.

Successful applicants will be randomly drafted to a team and notified via email of their team and qualifier.

The first 20 trios will jump into battle on Friday 6 13 May at 19h00. The top ten will secure a place in the final on 20 27 May, while the remaining ten will get a second bite of the apple in qualifier two on 13 20 May. [UPDATE 5/5/22: Dates changed due to loadshedding]

By 20 May, only 20 trios will be ready to compete for the R20,000 cash up for grabs. All the action of the final day will be live via the ACGL Twitch channel, while all three competition days will feature streams by the invited streamers.

PRIZE POOL

The R20,000 prize pool in the final will be distributed as follows:

  • 1st Place: R10,000
  • 2nd Place: R5,000
  • 3rd Place: R2,000
  • 4-6th Place: R1,000
