What is BCX?
BCX, or the Brawlhalla World Championships Expo, is a tournament organised by Ubisoft and Blue Mammoth games, featuring the top players from around the world. Participants compete for a share of a $200,000 dollar prize pool in Atlanta, Georgia, and to be crowned the BCX Champion of Year 11.
How old do I have to be to compete?
Each Player must be 13 years old or older, as stated on their official government issued documentations, at the time of their first match in order to be eligible to participate. For the Last Chance Qualifier and Playoffs, parental consent will be required for any participant under the age of 18.
What is the qualifier tournament format?
The Sub-Saharan Africa regional qualifier tournament consists of 3 stages: Two Online Qualifiers, one Last Chance Qualifier, and the Qualifier Playoffs. Individual tournament formats can be found in the descriptions of the relevant tournament pages.
What are GSL-style groups?
GSL-style groups take inspiration from double-elimination brackets. Groups typically feature 4 participants, where each participant has 3 attempts to advance out of the group. Win two matches, and you progress. Lose two matches, and you are eliminated.
I participated in the Online Qualifier and won; now what?
The top 2 participants from each Online Qualifier advance straight to the Playoffs at MTN SHIFT Canal Walk Shopping Center in Cape Town. Only the first-place winner from the first Online Qualifier will be contacted regarding details to cover flights. The remaining winners from the Online Qualifiers seed place 2-4 in the Playoffs but will need to make their own plans for attendance.
How many players qualify for the Playoffs?
The Playoffs features the top 8 players: 4 from the Online qualifiers, and 4 from the Last Chance Qualifier taking place at MTN SHIFT Canal Walk Shopping Center in Cape Town.
What regions can participate?
During the Online Qualifiers, only residents from South Africa will be able to participate. The Last Chance Qualifier is open to all participants that are able to attend the event in-person.
